Refund & Cancellation Policy

Effective Date: 22 September 2026
Last Updated: 22 September 2026

1. Introduction

This Refund and Cancellation Policy explains how cancellation, rescheduling, account credit, and refund requests are handled for webinars, training sessions, and other learning services purchased through https://collabwiseacademy.com/.

CollabWise Academy provides digital, live, recorded, and customized professional learning services. Because access links, webinar seats, recordings, and educational materials may be supplied electronically, refund eligibility depends on when a request is submitted and whether access to the service has already been provided.

This Policy should be read together with our Terms and Conditions. Nothing in this Policy limits any consumer right or remedy that cannot legally be excluded under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018 or other applicable Nigerian law.

2. Scope of This Policy

This Policy applies to payments made for:

  • AI solutions and automation webinars;
  • Career growth and professional skills training;
  • Employee wellness sessions;
  • Leadership and management webinars;
  • Sustainability and innovation webinars;
  • Digital workplace training;
  • Corporate learning programs;
  • Live online training sessions;
  • Recorded webinar access; and
  • Other learning services displayed on our website.

Where a separately signed agreement, proposal, or corporate training contract contains specific cancellation terms, those agreed terms will apply to that service.

3. Participant Cancellation Before a Live Webinar

If you can no longer attend a scheduled live webinar, you should send a cancellation request as early as possible.

Requests Submitted at Least 48 Hours Before the Session

Where a cancellation request is received at least 48 hours before the scheduled starting time, you may be eligible for one of the following:

  • A refund to the original payment method;
  • Transfer to another available session;
  • Account credit for a future webinar; or
  • Transfer of the registration to another eligible participant.

Any replacement participant must comply with the registration requirements and these Terms.

Requests Submitted Less Than 48 Hours Before the Session

Where a cancellation request is received less than 48 hours before the webinar begins, a cash refund may not be available because the participant’s place, access arrangements, instructor time, and platform capacity may already have been reserved.

Depending on the circumstances, CollabWise Academy may offer:

  • Access to a later session;
  • Credit toward another webinar;
  • Access to a recording, where available; or
  • Transfer of the registration to another person.

These alternatives are subject to availability and are not guaranteed.

4. Cancellations After a Webinar Begins

A refund will generally not be provided after:

  • The live webinar has started;
  • The participant has joined or attended any part of the session;
  • A recording has been accessed;
  • Restricted learning materials have been downloaded;
  • A certificate has been issued; or
  • The purchased service has been substantially delivered.

An exception may be considered where the service was not provided as described, a significant technical problem on our side prevented access, or a refund is required by applicable law.

Dissatisfaction based only on personal expectations, preferred teaching style, or failure to attend is not normally sufficient for a refund where the service was properly delivered and reasonably matched its published description.

5. Recorded Webinars and Immediate Digital Access

A recorded webinar or digitally accessible learning resource may become available immediately after payment or registration.

Once a user has accessed, streamed, downloaded, or otherwise used a recorded session or restricted learning material, the service is considered to have begun. A refund will generally not be available after access has occurred unless:

  • The file or recording is materially defective;
  • The supplied content is substantially different from its description;
  • Access cannot be provided because of a failure within our system;
  • The same service was charged more than once; or
  • Applicable law requires another remedy.

Before purchasing immediate-access content, users should review the service description, technical requirements, and access conditions.

6. Missed Webinars

Failure to attend a scheduled webinar does not automatically qualify for a refund.

If you know that you cannot attend, you should contact us before the scheduled session. Where possible, we may offer access to:

  • A recording of the session;
  • A future presentation of the same webinar;
  • Another webinar of similar value; or
  • Account credit.

These options depend on the webinar format, available recordings, licensing restrictions, and future schedules.

If a participant misses a webinar because an access email was filtered into a spam or junk folder, the absence will not normally be treated as a failure by CollabWise Academy where the instructions were correctly sent to the registered email address.

7. Cancellation by CollabWise Academy

CollabWise Academy may cancel or postpone a session because of:

  • Instructor illness or unavailability;
  • Platform or hosting failure;
  • Security or safety concerns;
  • Insufficient enrolment;
  • Power or internet disruption;
  • Emergency circumstances;
  • Events beyond our reasonable control; or
  • Another operational issue that prevents proper delivery.

Where we cancel a paid session and cannot provide a reasonable alternative, affected participants may choose between:

  • A place in a rescheduled session;
  • Credit toward another CollabWise Academy service; or
  • A refund of the amount paid for the cancelled service.

We will make reasonable efforts to notify registered participants through the email address connected to their registration.

CollabWise Academy will not be responsible for unrelated expenses incurred by participants, including internet costs, equipment purchases, accommodation, travel arrangements, lost working time, or third-party fees.

8. Rescheduled Sessions

A webinar may occasionally be moved to a different date or time. When this happens, registered participants will be informed as soon as reasonably possible.

Your registration will normally be transferred automatically to the new session. If the revised schedule is not suitable, you may request an alternative session, account credit, or refund within the period stated in the rescheduling notice.

Minor changes that do not materially affect access may not create an automatic right to a refund. These may include a reasonable change of instructor, a short delay, a webinar-platform change, or an adjustment to the running order.

9. Technical Problems

Participants are responsible for maintaining:

  • A stable internet connection;
  • A compatible device and browser;
  • Required webinar software;
  • Access to the registered email account; and
  • Working audio or video equipment where participation requires it.

Refunds are generally not issued for problems caused by a participant’s device, internet service, power supply, firewall, email settings, software, or failure to follow access instructions.

If a verified technical failure within CollabWise Academy’s website or selected webinar platform prevents a participant from accessing a substantial part of the paid session, we may provide:

  • Access to a recording;
  • A replacement session;
  • Extended access;
  • Account credit; or
  • A refund where an effective alternative cannot be provided.

Participants should report technical problems promptly and provide reasonable supporting details, such as screenshots, error messages, or the time the issue occurred.

10. Duplicate or Incorrect Payments

If you believe you were charged more than once or charged an incorrect amount, contact us promptly with:

  • Your full name;
  • Registered email address;
  • Order or transaction reference;
  • Date and amount of payment; and
  • A brief explanation of the issue.

Do not send your complete card number, CVV, online banking password, one-time password, or UPI PIN.

After verification, a confirmed duplicate or incorrect charge will be refunded or otherwise corrected. Payments are processed through third-party financial service providers, and the time required for the adjustment to appear may depend on the relevant bank or payment gateway.

11. Failed, Pending, or Reversed Transactions

A payment marked as failed, pending, reversed, or incomplete does not confirm a webinar registration.

If money has been deducted but the website does not confirm registration, contact us before attempting repeated payments. We may request a transaction reference or limited proof of payment to investigate the issue.

We do not store complete debit or credit card numbers, CVV details, online banking passwords, or UPI PINs on our servers. Payment authentication and processing are handled by the applicable bank or third-party payment service.

Where a failed transaction is automatically reversed, the time required for the funds to reappear is controlled by the relevant bank or payment provider.

12. Corporate and Customized Training

Corporate learning programs, private webinars, and customized training may require advance planning, instructor reservation, content preparation, or platform arrangements.

The applicable quotation, proposal, invoice, or service agreement may specify:

  • A booking deposit;
  • Payment deadlines;
  • Participant limits;
  • Rescheduling conditions;
  • Cancellation charges; and
  • Refund eligibility.

Where customized preparation has already started, reasonable costs incurred before cancellation may be deducted from an otherwise eligible refund, provided that this was disclosed in the applicable agreement and is permitted by law.

13. Promotional and Discounted Registrations

A refund for a discounted registration will not exceed the amount actually paid.

Where a service was purchased as part of a bundle, promotion, group arrangement, or special offer, cancellation may affect the discount applied to the remaining services. Any adjustment will be explained before the refund is completed.

Promotional credits, complimentary registrations, and free webinar access have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money.

14. How to Request a Refund or Cancellation

To request a cancellation, refund, rescheduling, or account credit, email us using the address provided at the end of this Policy.

Your request should include:

  • Your full name;
  • Registered email address;
  • Webinar or service name;
  • Scheduled date, if applicable;
  • Order or transaction reference;
  • Reason for the request; and
  • Your preferred resolution.

We may request further information reasonably necessary to verify the transaction or understand the circumstances. Sensitive authentication information must not be submitted.

Submitting a request does not automatically guarantee approval. Each request will be assessed according to this Policy, the status of service delivery, applicable consumer law, and any specific terms accepted during registration.

15. Refund Method and Processing Time

Approved refunds will normally be returned through the original payment method. If that method is unavailable, we may agree on another secure and lawful method after verifying the customer’s identity.  Currency-conversion differences, bank charges, and independently imposed payment-provider fees may not be recoverable by CollabWise Academy. We will not deduct an undisclosed cancellation charge from an approved refund.

16. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

You should contact CollabWise Academy first if you believe a payment or service issue has occurred. This gives us an opportunity to investigate and resolve the concern promptly. Submitting a false, misleading, or abusive chargeback may result in temporary account restrictions while the transaction is investigated. We may provide the payment processor with relevant registration, attendance, access, and communication records where reasonably necessary to respond to a dispute.

Nothing in this section prevents you from exercising a lawful right through your bank, payment provider, the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, or another competent authority.

17. Policy Updates

We may revise this Policy when our services, payment arrangements, or legal responsibilities change. The updated version will be posted on the website with a revised “Last Updated” date.

The version that applied when a service was purchased will generally govern that transaction unless a later change is required by law or provides more favourable terms to the participant.
